⚖️ Ownership of Zi Intellectual Property

Effective Date: July 24, 2025

We built Zi from scratch — from our name to our unique algorithm to our challenge formats. That means:

  • You can’t copy, scrape, or reverse engineer the app
  • You can’t clone the brand or use our logo/names like “ziPoint” or “ziCORE”
  • Your content stays yours, but we need a license to show it on the platform
  • Some filters & tools come from partners like Banuba and others — don’t try to extract or reuse them
  • We take infringement seriously. If someone violates your copyright, hit us up via our DMCA process.

🧠 TL;DR — Summary

Everything we built is legally protected — please don’t copy, reverse-engineer, or use our stuff without permission. You own your content, but we can promote it on Zi.

1. Platform Ownership

All content, features, and functionalities provided through the Zi platform—including, but not limited to, visual design, code, layout, text, branding, animations, proprietary reward and engagement systems (e.g., ziPoints, ziLevels, ziChallenges), user interface elements, and algorithms—are the exclusive property of Zi Social Inc. and are protected under U.S. and international intellectual property laws.

You agree not to copy, reverse-engineer, distribute, mirror, decompile, disassemble, or exploit any part of the platform without our prior written consent.

2. Trademarks

All trademarks, logos, and brand elements associated with Zi are the property of Zi Social Inc., whether or not they are formally registered. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Zi, ziPoint, ziLevel, ziCORE, ziWILD, ziChallenge, ziCounter, ziLeaderboard, and any associated logos, icons, or slogans.

You may not use, imitate, or modify these trademarks without express written permission. For brand usage requests, see our Trademark Use Policy.

3. Proprietary Algorithm & Trade Secrets

The ranking systems, visibility logic, challenge mechanics, and core engagement algorithm of Zi (collectively, “ZiCORE”) constitute proprietary trade secrets of Zi Social Inc. You agree not to access, disclose, replicate, reverse engineer, or tamper with any part of these mechanisms.

Zi’s engagement systems are designed for user enjoyment, not to manipulate behavior. We do not use exploitative or manipulative techniques, especially for underage users.

4. Licensed SDKs & Third-Party Tools

Some in-app experiences (e.g., video filters) are powered by third-party tools licensed by Zi Social Inc., such as the Banuba SDK. Your use of these features may be subject to additional terms imposed by those providers. Zi disclaims all liability arising from third-party SDK behavior.

5. User-Generated Content (UGC)

You retain full ownership of any videos or content you create and upload to Zi.

However, by submitting content, you grant Zi Social Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, host, display, distribute, modify, reproduce, and promote your content in connection with the platform, including for marketing and advertising purposes.

This license continues even if you delete your account or content, to the extent it was shared, reshared, or featured in marketing campaigns.

6. Cloning, Copying, or Unauthorized Use

You are strictly prohibited from:

  • Cloning or mimicking Zi’s challenge system, reward logic, UI/UX, or gamification structure
  • Using Zi as a model to build derivative or competing services
  • Scraping or harvesting any data from the app
  • Using Zi content, branding, or functionality in any way not explicitly authorized

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination and potential legal action.

7. Enforcement & Remedies

Zi Social Inc. reserves the right to:

  • Suspend or ban any user violating this IP policy
  • Issue takedown requests or pursue legal remedies (e.g., injunctions, monetary damages)
  • Cooperate with law enforcement or third parties in enforcing intellectual property rights
